Jackpot Flowers Helping Local Businesses, Customers, and the Community to Win
“There have got to be ways for all of us to win,” that thinking inspired John Van Vliet to create Jackpot Flowers.
The winning inspiration came at a time when everyone appeared to be losing.
John has been in the flower business here in Niagara for almost thirty years. He and his wife are partners in Northern Flower Connection Inc., a wholesale distributer of fresh cut Niagara flowers across New York and Northern Pennsylvania. When COVID-19 locked down all but the most essential businesses in March 2020, Northern Flower Connection Inc. suffered its own losses. The company also saw its suppliers lose entire crops of Easter lilies, hydrangeas and other celebration blooms. Mother’s Day was no better for Niagara’s flower growers.
Other problems in Niagara were becoming more pronounced too. Cancelled events meant the not-for-profit organizations and charities who serve our people were losing fundraising revenues. It was happening when the need for community services was only increasing.
Family-run flower businesses, community organizations and individuals were all hurting.

In the Northern hemisphere, people have always dealt with the dark of winter by bringing light and evergreens into our homes. With the approach of winter 2020-21, the color and vitality fresh cut flowers and greenery bring to our tables and décor has never been more important to our well-being. Jackpot Flowers offers same day delivery of product from Niagara’s own greenhouses to your door. Not only is it a shop local option, but fully-transparent pricing means that all pre-tax prices are as posted. There will be no additional fees or charges for delivery within the Niagara Region.
And then, Jackpot Flowers gets even more interesting.
Every time sales reach $6000, the jackpot will be $600. A local not-for-profit in the spotlight will receive a donation of $500. Another $100 will go to a randomly selected customer who has entered the draw. Customers who choose Jackpot Flowers support local growers, local community organizations and their own joy with the gift of flowers.
Once the Jackpot is reached, winners will be announced on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
